Overseas Network, August 20 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department has informed the Greek government of its "strong position" on any foreign aid to Iranian tankers, Reuters reported on August 19. According to the Russian Satellite News Agency, an official of the US State Department warned the Greek government that any effort to assist the Iranian tanker Adrian Daria I to return to Syria could be seen as providing material support to terrorist organizations.






According to reports, the U.S. official pointed out that the "Adrian Daria 1" tanker was assisting Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard by transporting illegal oil and selling it to Syria. According to an earlier report by the Associated Press, the United States has listed the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard as a "foreign terrorist organization".
